NeighborMD, an urgent and primary care practice, has announced the opening of its newest center in Brentwood Aug. 9. The first NeighborMD center opened in Hermitage in January.

space formerly occupied by Hollywood Video. A grand opening celebration will take place Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 6 and 7 from 10 am to 5 pm each day.  Area residents are invited to tour the facility, meet the staff and register for $500 in prizes.

The Brentwood location is the second of approximately 24 NeighborMD centers planned in Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky over the next five years, according to NeighborMD Chief Operating Officer Les Coble.

“Our centers cater to patients with urgent but non-life threatening illnesses and injuries. We see patients with injuries ranging from cuts and scrapes to broken bones, along with illnesses and other conditions ranging from colds and sinus problems to stomach aches.

“We are a convenient option when patients can’t get an appointment with their regular physician.” said Coble. “Our goal is to make NeighborMD the new standard for providing high-quality, compassionate urgent care to the communities in which we operate. We are very excited to be a part of the Brentwood, Oak Hill and Forest Hills neighborhoods.”

All NeighborMD centers have a physician on-site at all times to ensure the delivery of effective healthcare and enabling them to treat a broad spectrum of patients.

NeighborMD will offer convenient extended hours, walk-in service and limited wait times and on-site diagnostic laboratory and digital X-ray capabilities and an on-site dispensary, with common medications in stock.

It will accept Medicare and most commercial insurance plans.

The Brentwood center will offer a broad range of healthcare services including treatment for episodic illnesses and injuries; wellness, sport, DOT and executive physicals; immunizations; and various screening and testing panels for individuals and employers.

The 3,700 square foot center has eight exam rooms. Hours will be Monday-Saturday 8 am to 7 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm.

Other members of the NeighborMD management team include local Nashville businessmen Gregory Burns, chief executive officer; Peter Rossell, chief financial officer; and local physician Dr. Barry Yarbrough, chief medical officer. Additionally, Nashville healthcare veteran Philip Hertik, who most recently was chairman and CEO of Windsor Health Group, Inc., is a board member and advisor to the company.
