By JODI RALL For Brentwood Home Page Ravenwood High School had seven athletes sign national letters-of-intent at an after-school ceremony Wednesday afternoon. The Raptors' cafeteria where the signings took place was full of students, teachers, families coaches and well-wishers who gathered to cheer for the young athletes.
Volleyball player Micaela Bailey signed with Union University. Micaela is the daughter of Kevin Bailey and Jackie and Bert Young and has served as captain for the volleyball team for three years. She led the team in digs and aces. She plans to study Pediatric Occupational Therapy.
Rose Hull signed with Furman University to play soccer. Rose is the daughter of Jennifer and Steve Hull. Rose, who has been named All State, Regional Team, and Goal Keeper of the Year in 2010, plans to major in psychology.
Football player Patrick McGrath signed with Henderson State University where he plans to major in business management. He is the son of Jerry and Judy McGrath. In addition to football, Patrick has enjoyed a successful baseball career in high school.
James Moseley IV signed with Queen’s University at Charlotte for swimming. James is the son of Robert and Dayna Moseley. During his high school career James finished third in the state and top 16 in the 500 free. He plans to study international business.
Jasmine Oates will play volleyball at Lincoln Memorial University. She is the daughter of Gary Oates and plans to major in psychology. A playing highlight was scoring the game-winning point in the Lady Raptors’ second state championship game last fall.
Christi Padget signed with the University of Memphis where she’ll play soccer. Christi is the daughter of Craig and Lilia Padget and was named All State and All District. She will study sports medicine/science.
Katie Parrott signed with Radford University to play golf. Katie, daughter of Jim and Laura Parrott, is a member of National Honor Society, John Maher Scholarship Athlete Award, winner of 2011 and 2012 Regional Tournament and went to state all four years. She plans to major in nursing or become a physician’s assistant.
