This week was very challenging and exhausting.  I am learning just how my unhealthy choices have lead to a buildup in my body.  I am dealing with colds, sinus infections, muscle spasms, plantar fascitis and a deep exhaustion mentally.   I have totally revamped my eating habits.  I even bought a juicer and have supplemented with that.  I am only buying "clean" food.  No more sugar and processed foods.   My reaction to my 11yr old son pouring a huge glass of apple juice after his school d . . . [View Full]
Wow, I can't believe we are moving into week six already!  We are halfway there.  I see numbers changing and I feel great!  This challenge has changed me from the inside out.  I am excited to see what happens in six more weeks.  Thanks to all our wonderful sponsors for making this possible.  Without our sponsors many of us would not have been able to make this happen.  A special thanks to Team Orange Theory sponsor Clearwater Pools!  We will make you proud!!!    Thank you to all thes . . . [View Full]
When the Be Healthy Challenge is over, what do I need to do to have a nutritious lifestyle? I can think of two major parts: I will need to be active every day, probably by joining a gym (my husband belongs to one), and I will need to control food portions. I'm a little concerned about the food portions (my plan for calories, fats, carbs, and proteins) because the few times I've eaten at a restaurant during the Be Healthy Challenge, it's been a disaster for my eating strategy. The foods weren't  . . . [View Full]
So, we are a month in to the program, and it feels like I’m settling into a routine.  But of course, our lives are anything but.  This week promises to be challenging as I navigate Memphis, Cleveland and Denver.  It is tempting to say that exercise is just not going to fit in to my life this week, and who would blame me?  But you know what I’m discovering?  It might be a little challenging to fit it in, but I actually feel better when I do.  I have more energy, the car rides do not see . . . [View Full]
By far, the most impacting piece of information I have acquired is understanding about how our bodies are designed and how they deal with processed food. Your body is so well designed that it can identify the foods that it was created to ingest. It instantly knows what to do with them. When we eat processed foods, even certain "healthy option" frozen meals, the food can be so processed that the body doesn't even recognize it. It's like the body says - "I know there is some corn in there and I se . . . [View Full]
Instead of focusing on which unhealthy foods I should eat less of, I will concentrate on which healthy foods I could eat more of.   This is the week I want to strive to stay on track. We are already 5 weeks down! I don't want to waste this opportunity in the Be Healthy Challenge and ruin it with my lack of discipline in my nutrition. My sponsors have provided too much for me to let them down. I have strayed a little this past week or so. Nutrition is the first to go when things get stress . . . [View Full]
Week Five: We Plead the Fifth   Consider a week busier than even this man might anticipate. With all that is going on he still sleeps next to the prettiest girl he has ever seen and must answer the alarm twice a day to take his life sustaining immuno-suppressants which keep him alive.   We know about the “Be Healthy Challenge”, its goals and support, and the competition between Team Quest and the team of his lovely bride: 100% Fit. But why run?   The man was not born to run. His bro . . . [View Full]
What steps can you take this week to move into a nutritious lifestyle? What are foods do you want to add to your meals? What methods can you employ to create a healthy family? By: Caroline Croteau Week 5 and I am very aware of my changing life. I am making decisions all day about food, planning, preparing, counting, etc. As the weeks go on it is becoming easier and easier. I dont have to think about how many calories this is, or how much fat that has, I already know! I am excited about tryin . . . [View Full]
My sons are athletes, my husband is an athlete, even my dog is an athlete, but not me.  Well check this out. One week ago today our trainer, Eric Hagar, called Elite 8 ATHLETES! What!?   Through this journey we are learning and doing many things to change our lives. Showing up for our workouts with Eric and E is a large part of it. Wow! our bodies are a changing. But what about the fuel needed for our bodies?  We do our workouts as a team, how can we do this nutrition thing alone? YOUR AR . . . [View Full]
We are told from an early age that what we eat impacts our daily lives.  I have always been one of the individuals that basically ignored the idea.  I have eaten whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted, and however I wanted.  This was fine when I was a teenage and even into my twenties; however, upon entering my thirties I started to notice that I was not able to keep the weight off to the same degree as when I was younger.  I also noticed that as life got busier, I had less strenuous activity  . . . [View Full]
I haven't been on the grocery store tour yet, but I've heard bits and pieces of what Dr. Owens is saying about how to shop and what to eat. I'm interested to hear it for myself. I know it all boils down to the old saying "you are what you eat." I've been making changes for the past 3 years to improve what I eat and be healthier in all aspects of my life. And even if what Dr. Owens says is something I've heard before, it's always worth hearing it again. Because maybe this time it will stick wi . . . [View Full]
Electrical failure can lead to a loss of productivity and increased costs. Therefore, minimising the downtime as a result of electrical issues is crucial to any business, and should be managed from the outset. The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) reports that the failure rate of electrical components is three times higher for systems without an Electrical Preventative Maintenance (EPM) program. There are several ways to minimise future maintenance with an EPM program, co . . . [View Full]
Wow, who would have thought that it's already Week 4 of the BeHealthy Challenge!  This week was extra exciting for Team Iron Tribe!  Our team had the pleasure of meeting the extraordinary Dr. Ila Foster from Graceful Hands Chiropractic and Wellness Center!  It was such a treat for her to be able to come out and meet our team!  It was fitting, actually, that Dr. Foster and Renee Yarbrough visited us on our "graduation" from Iron Tribe 101!  The day was amazing really, as we all saw how muc . . . [View Full]
