Lindsey Michelle Reid and Michael Joseph Burk were united in marriage on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Brentwood United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dietrich Kirk performed the early evening ceremony.
Miss Whitney Reid of Brentwood served as her sister’s maid of honor. Best man was Nicholas Noblet of Indianapolis, a fraternity brother of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Leanne Dery of Virginia Beach, Va., and Holly Harmon, Macy Harmon, Rosie Jiang and Rebecca Weller, all of Brentwood.
Groomsmen were Brian Foreman of Plainfield, Ind., Tom George of Maine, NY, Ronald Roberts III of Galveston, Ind., and Alex Reiners and William Whiteside, both of Brentwood.
Kailey Ball and Jacob Reid, cousins of the bride, served as flower girl and ring bearer respectively.
The bride is the daughter of Donald and Rebecca Reid of Brentwood. The groom is the son of Michael D. and Brenda Burk. Also attending were Lafon Cravens and Herman Reid, grandfathers of the bride; Sally Bowyer, grandmother of the groom and Paul Burk, grandfather of the groom
The bride wore an organza ball gown with sweetheart neckline, crystal beading, embroidered detail, ruched bodice and chapel-length train. Her bridesmaids wore navy blue tissue taffeta floor-length dresses with a train and silver sash.
Music was provided by the BUMC Sonshine Choir which sang "For All That Is" and "May the Peace." Soloist James Wells sang "Come Thou Fount," "Be Thou My Vision" and "Gift of Love." Gregg Bunn played the pipe organ, Patsy Wade played the piano.
Also participating in the ceremony were cross bearer Jeremy Reid and Elizabeth Edwards who carried in a banner of bells.
A reception followed the ceremony at Richland Country Club with music provided by the Nashville Party Authority following a buffet dinner.
Following a honeymoon cruise to Grand Cayman, Cozumel, Jamaica, and Haiti, the couple is residing in Indianapolis where Michael is completing his M.D. at Indiana University School of Medicine. Lindsey is finishing her Masters Degree in Social Work at Indiana University.
