The old Holiday Inn on Old Hickory Boulevard is a shell of its former self. Literally.

With new ownership, new management and an entirely different feel, Middle Tennessee’s first Four Points by Sheraton hotel will open this week.

Last week, however, the 212-room hotel’s interior still looked like a construction site – which it was – but enough of the “new” was completed to give a taste for what is coming. Mitchell Gold/Bob Williams furniture boxes sat on the lobby’s new slate floor while electricians, plumbers and carpenters worked their way down the punch list of last-minute projects.

Director of Sales Suzanne Lee described Four Points as a “select serve” facility that caters to the independent business person during the week and leisure travelers on weekends. She noted that since it was an existing hotel property, the new Brentwood-area Four Points will offer several services not available in others in the chain.

For instance, there is 3,000 square feet of meeting space. Three of the five large meeting rooms can be opened to create the Brentwood Ballroom which can seat 220-250 at round tables for dinner.

The hotel will have a full catering service, under the direction of executive chef Thomas Cook, who has served at both Union Station and Gaylord Opryland hotels. Cook is still developing the restaurant and catering menus which will focus on “contemporary American fare,” Lee said.

The full-service restaurant, The Edge at 760 – a nod to the hotel’s 760 Old Hickory Boulevard address – will have a daily $12.95 breakfast buffet as well as serve a breakfast menu. A live band will perform several nights a week.

Each afternoon hotel guests will be treated to local craft beers in the lobby, one of Four Points’ signature services, Lee explained.

The 212 guest rooms include 32 executive suites on the top floors and one Presidential Suite. Lee said the executive suites each have two baths and plenty of room and amenities needed for entertaining or conducting business.

The large exterior pool has been rehabbed as has a large indoor whirlpool, which can be used year-round. There’s also a spacious fitness room.

There is also retail space available in the building that Lee said they hoped may attract a boutique or spa – something that will be both beneficial to hotel guests but also draw locals.

The hotel is owned by Dr. Anvil Patel of Clarksville and operated by Maximum Hospitality, the “preferred management company for Four Points,” Lee said. General Manager Brent Scarbro previously managed the Four Points in Knoxville, which was ranked No. 1 in the chain, Lee said.

“And that’s pretty much what he expects here,” she added.
