Messina, symphony will make memories at the Martin
Messina, symphony will make memories at the Martin | BrentWord, Brentwood Home Page,Susan Leathers, brentwood tn news, Jo Dee Messina

I love it when the phone rings with a scoop. Especially when I love the people on the other end of the line.

So here it is: Grammy-nominated Jodee Messina will headline this year’s Music & Memories concert at the FiftyForward Martin Center.

“We’re calling it an ‘Electrifying Evening of Elegance,’” Sherry Coss, the senior center’s program director, said. And why not? Fifteen of the Nashville Symphony’s best horn and brass players and four members of Jodee’s band will back her up.

“We’re taking it to a whole new level this year,” executive director Joyce Keistler chimed in, via speakerphone.

They were short on details -- “We only confirmed it all 30 minutes ago!” Sherry said. “Let’s call it a Save the Date invitation for now.”

And that date would be Wednesday, June 29. The dynamic duo does know that there will be a VIP reception with Messina at 5:30 p.m. with the actual concert following at 7 p.m. It will all take place at the warm and welcoming center on Heritage Drive.

“This is going to be great,” Keistler said. I swear she was verging on gushing. “It’s just like having the symphony and Jodee Messina perform for you in your living room.”

You heard it here first. But if you happen to run across Sherry or Joyce, no doubt you’ll get another earful, or two. We’ll have ticket details, etc. as they become available. But as Sherry says, please save the date!

Broasted chicken, anyone?
Have you seen our signage? Yep, Brentwood Home Page can’t hide anymore. Our signage recently went up on our office door and window at Roundabout Station, the two-story building located on the northeast corner of the Town Center roundabout.

We couldn’t wait to get it up and now we’re not sure whether we love or ... not. Want to weigh in?

I swear, every time I look up at the big “B” that's front and center, broasted chicken comes to mind. I can’t shake it. "Will that be two thighs and a drumstick m'aam, or would you like a whole fryer?"

I think it’s the white background behind our signature logo.

We hope hundreds – thousands? – of Brentwood folks will give us their feedback at Saturday’s first Town Center Saturdays festival on Saturday. We'll have a tent, so please drop by and say hello.
