Due to the weather and school closings, there has been a delay in obtaining the RHS athletes' information.  Our hope is to have the information up on Tuesday afternoon.

Shannon Glenn
Shannon Glenn, a BHS student has many talents, and used all of them during last Friday’s Special Olympics.

Shannon says, "I love to run, I love to cheer for all the athletes, but I REALLY LOVE music, singing, and dancing!"

Her events in the Special Olympics included the 50 meter run and the softball throw.  Shannon was happy with her results and enjoyed training for these events during the year.

Shannon loves her big family.  She has one brother, two sisters, mom and dad, and a cat named Mouse.  Her favorite movie is Jaws, and her favorite singer is Keith Urban.

Jill Smith is Shannon's favorite teacher at BHS.

Jill states, "Shannon is always so happy, and loves to give out hugs.  She is definitely a favorite among the Care Bears."

The Care Bears program is for students willing to make a difference and help students with special needs.  Students help by attending community outings, socializing within a school day-to-day environment (e.g. lunches, peer buddies in class), attending Special Olympics in the Fall and Spring, coordinating and participating in the Care Bear games.

This year's highlights for Shannon and the Care Bears besides the Special Olympics, was a county wide dodge ball game.  "We had fun smearing Ravenwood!"  Shannon says.

Due to the weather and school closings, there has been a delay in obtaining the RHS athletes' information.  Our hope is to have the information up on Tuesday afternoon.

Casey Cook
Casey Cook, student at Brentwood High, is an all around athlete and music lover.  In last Friday's Special Olympics, Casey had to narrow down his events to two; the 100 meter dash, where he placed second, and in the standing long jump where he took first place with the blue ribbon!

Casey also enjoys playing tennis, and says his backhand is his best stroke.

Casey loves being a part of the Care Bears club at Brentwood High, selling warm chocolate chip cookies everyday being his favorite activity with them.

"Grace Vinson and Kenzie Carrillo are my best friends in Care Bears.  We have dance parties, listen to music, and we sell a ton of cookies.  I like listening to pop music that I can dance to, like TLC, Toni Braxton, Madonna."

When asked what his favorite movie is, Casey named many and the reasons he liked them, but his all time favorite is the classic 1994 version of "Richey Rich".  Casey is extremely clever in explaining the details of his favorite things, and is up on the gossip from favorite shows on MTV.

"I talk to Grace and Kenzie about all the shows, I tell them how it all works out."
