Paul Stuart Senior / Cross country, track and field
Paul Stuart is a senior at BHS and a member of the cross country and track teams. He has been running since the seventh grade and trains 70 miles a week.
In the spring Paul runs track, performing in the mile and two mile events. With an impressive time of 4 minutes, 24 seconds for the mile, this young man can run distance and still compete in the short events.
Coach Seigenthaler, the track coach, “is always encouraging and supportive,” Paul said. The support has added to the success of this young athlete.
With plans to attend college and major in the music industry, Appalachian State and Clemson are two of his top choices.
Parents Hank and Tracie and siblings Emma and Kathryn are very proud of Paul.
Paul also enjoys playing guitar. He plays for the FCA Worship Team, and music makes him kick back and relax when he is finished running.

Elizabeth Scott Sophomore / Cross country, track and field
Elizabeth Scott is a sophomore at BHS and a member of the cross country and track teams. Crediting several coaches and learning lots of different viewpoints have been a blessing to both her athletic and personal accomplishments. She is running 44-52 miles weekly to train for the team.
“My running has gradually improved thanks to the influence of several coaches. My high school cross country coaches, Dave and Kelly Rowe, have taught me how to be a team player while striving for my personal best. My track coaches, Coach Siegenthaler and Coach Kinger, worked on my speed and positive mental attitude,” Elizabeth said.
With plans to attend college and pursue a nursing degreek “I am going to build my running resume and hope to have the opportunity to run at the collegiate level,” Elizabeth said.
An active participant in FCA and CRASH, Elizabeth is also a member of the Science Honor Society.
Parents are John and Brenda Scott, and she has four siblings -- John, Emily, James and Ellie.
A fun fact about Elizabeth: “I eat sports beans before I run,” she said, noting the energy jelly beans taste good and work too. They must be working for this record running runner.

Conley Chitwood Senior / Cross country, track and field
Conley Chitwood, a senior at RHS, is a member of the cross country team and track teams, training 7-8 miles daily 7-8. Coach Miller is someone that has encouraged Conley’s success.
“My teammates around me bring me up during hard races. I try to keep running enjoyable,” Conley said.
When not running, Conley enjoys mixed martial arts and is a member of Student Council.
An excellent student, he plans to major in engineering in college. Rice would be Conley’s top pick and close behind would be Auburn or SMU.
Parents Bill and Carol, and siblings Dabney and Austin are supportive of Conley and he credits them with his success.
A fun fact that Conley would like you to know is that “My ancestors lived in Riverdale among the elves. I’m half elf.” Actually this is a line from Lord of the Rings -- seems Conley is "a big fan."

Jasmine "Jazzy" Oates Senior / Volleyball
Jasmine "Jazzy" Oates is a senior at RHS and a member of the girls volleyball team. Known for her hard hitting serves, hits and blocks Jasmine says “you have to play as a team. Posture, attitude and encouragement” are tools to a successful team.
Mrs. Payne is a teacher that has impacted Jazzy’s success. During Challenge Day her group “showed me no matter what you are going through, it’s up to you to fight and succeed for yourself and not let negativity around you beat you down.”
Success in volleyball has not just been at school as Jazzy plays club volleyball year-round. She also works and volunteers with different volleyball associations.
With college before her there are several possibilities that Jazzy is considering. Close to home Trevecca is one option, but she is considering Western Kentucky and being a walk on member of the volleyball team.
Father Gary Oates is proud of his daughter’s accomplishments on and off the court.
Jazzy shared this fun fact: “For people who don’t know me, they would be surprised how approachable I am. I am a very understanding person with a dry sense of humor and sarcastic with people I know.”

Garrett Bull Sophomore / Cross country, track and field
BA sophomore Garrett Bull runs cross country in the fall and track in the spring. In his spare time, he enjoys playing basketball and hiking.
“Coach Hudson and Coach Smith both have had great impact on my success both over the summer and into the season helping me train and setting goals for me,” Garrett said.
History is his favorite subject and as far as plans for college, James is taking his time looking ahead to see what will be the best fit for him.
Parents are Dan and Kathryn Bull and they have been an important part of Garrett's success.
James also loves Climb Nashville, and you can find him there when he is not running. Loving climbing and hiking, this is his favorite relaxing thing to do.

Allison Cheeseman Sophomore / Cross country, track and field
Allison Cheeseman, a sophomore at BA, is a member of the cross country team and track teams. She said that “my team has been really inspirational to me this year because they are always bringing such a positive, fun attitude to meets and practices.”
A special coach who just happens to be her mom has been influential in Allison’s training and success. “My mom helps me set my goals and achieve them,” she said.
Outside of school Allison is involved with her church youth group, going on mission trips and retreats.
Looking forward to college, Allison would like to study at University of Virginia, Dartmouth or Davidson College just to name a few possible schools. With aspirations of running at the collegiate level, Allison has set high goals for herself in the upcoming years at BA.
Parents Ken and Cathy Cheeseman and siblings Claire, Abby and Carter have helped Allison be successful in all she does.
Allison shared this fun fact about herself: “I cannot stand to listen to music while running!” No iPod for this young runner as listening to music "bugs" her.
