J.B. Calton Junior / Football
John Byron Calton or "J.B." is a junior at BHS and a member of the football team. Playing strong safety and on punt return, J.B. uses his speed to excel on the playing field. Once a baseball player too, J.B. was forced to give up the sport due to injury.
Two coaches have made a difference to J.B. Coach Crawford “is a great coach who knows what he is doing and he does to see us get better. The things he says motivates me and the team. He is also a great friend.”
Coach Winfree “is a hard coach as he will get in your grill, but he pushes me and pushes me because he knows I can do it. I really appreciate it as it has made me a better player.”
An interesting fact about J.B. is that his true passions are snowboarding and wakeboarding. Wakeboarding at Percy Priest or Tims Ford lakes is something J.B. loves to do on weekends and in the summer.
J.B. would like to study pharmacy or pre-medicine in college. His goal is to go to college in Colorado so that he can snowboard in the winter and wakeboard in the summer.
His parents are John Calton and Teresa Sexton. Sister Victoria is a freshman at UT-Knoxville.

Colleges in the Northeast have the strongest rugby programs so that is where Joe will be applying. He would like to major in business.

Faith Whatley Junior / Cross country, swimming, track
Faith Whatley is a junior at BA and runs cross country. In the spring Faith runs track and this year plans to join the swim team too. In addition to sports she is a member of FCA, on the math team, leadership team at church and plays the flute.
If there was one coach who has inspired Faith it would be Coach Cheeseman. “Coach has had a huge impact on me because her running and training strategies work so well. My freshman season was mediocre because I didn’t give my best effort, but sophomore year I 'drank the Kool Aid’ and started doing things her way. She honestly cares about all of us and I hope my races reflect that,” Faith said.
With plans of studying pre-med, Faith is beginning to look at colleges. Vanderbilt, Harvard and the University of Michigan are on her short list.
A fun or not-so-fun fact about Faith is that she was almost decapitated as a child on an old piece of playground equipment. Another fact a little more fun, is that she can pick locks and can do puzzles upside down, inside out.
Her parents are Jim and Luci Whatley.
