Robby Graves

Senior / Swimming

Robert “Robby” Graves, a senior at Brentwood High School, is a member of the swim team and competes in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle,  and for nationals the mile. Robby swims all year and competes with Excel.

Robby said that the coach who has made a difference with his swimming is his Excel coach, Mark Walker. "He is like a father to me,” Robby said.

College plans next fall take Robby to the Air Force Academy where he would like to study engineering. He also will compete on the swim team.

Robby is the son of Robert and Sandy Graves.

A fun fact about Robby: “Blurple is my favorite word.” (It is a color.)


Ashley Aycock
Senior / Dance team

Brentwood High School senior Ashley “Ash” Aycock is a member of the school dance team. In addition to dancing at school, Ashley competes with a team at “Dance with Tracy.” Ashley is a member of the United Way Club, loves art, and sewing and attends Fellowship Bible Church.

The coach who has inspired Ashley is Kristen Barry, her dance team coach and sponsor. "She is also a nurse practitioner at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital and a former BHS graduate," Ashley said. "I have learned so much from Kristen and I could not have asked for a better role model. She has taught me how to work well on a team and lead others diplomatically. We are so lucky to have such a friendly, hardworking, passionate, and loving coach.”

Ashley plans to attend the University of Tennessee- Knoxville next fall and major in kinesiology. Her goal  is to become a physical therapist.

Her parents are Robert and Anna Aycock.

A fun fact about this young athlete: “I love to tap dance.”

Corban Pefanis

Senior / Hockey, lacrosse

Ravenwood senior Corbin Pefanis, whose teammates affectionately call him “Slorbs,” is a member of the hockey team. He has been named captain both his junior and senior seasons, and was also a GNASH All-Star both years.

In addition to playing hockey, Corbin is captain of the lacrosse team and plays YMCA rec league basketball. He is a member of the National Honor Society, plus volunteers as a youth lacrosse coach for Raptors Youth and Nashville Groove.

“My success in hockey is attributed to the many great coaches I’ve had since beginning to skate at age 7," Corbin said. "Coach Dennis Hageman instilled in me the true desire to win.”

With plans to attend Old Miss in the fall, Corbin would like to study accounting. He wants to play club level sports if possible.

Corbin is the son of Terry and Susan Pefanis.

A fun fact Corbin shares about himself: “When I was 10 I stuck my tongue on a flag pole in the middle of January in Canada.” 


Abby Quinlan
Senior / Cheerleading

Abby Quinlan, a senior at Ravenwood High School,  is a member of the varsity cheerleading squad. She also competes with the Ravenwood competition cheerleading and with MPact All-Stars Cheerleading.

Abby said several coaches have made an impact on her success in her sport. "But my very first cheer coaches, Tom Jones and Josh Bewley, are the reason cheerleading became such a huge part of my life and why I still love doing it today,” she added.

Next fall Abby plans to attend Western Kentucky University and cheer on the All Girls Cheer Squad. She plans to declare a major in elementary education

Abby is the daughter of Richard and Leighann Quinlan.

A fun fact about Abby: “I have been cheering since the fourth grade; I help coach cheerleading to elementary students at Kenrose, as well as a squad at MPact.”
