Leadership Brentwood, now in its 21st year, introduced its Class of 2012 earlier this month at a reception hosted by BancorpSouth at its Maryland Farms location. Participants are selected for the eight-month program on the basis of their demonstrated leadership abilities and commitment to the Brentwood community.

The program is sponsored by the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber Foundation. Co-chairs of the Leadership Brentwood 2011-12 board  are Greg Lemon, Kraft Enterprise Systems, LLC, and Vicki Smith, Nissan North America, Inc. Both are members of the LBW Class of 2010.

The Class of 2012 is comprised of a diverse membership that includes business owners, entrepreneurs, educators and community leaders. Members are:

Matt Boyd

Boyd grew up in Northeast Ohio as one of six children and attended the University of Akron. In 1988, after several sales and marketing roles, he landed a sales management role with Larson-Juhl, a Berkshire Hathaway Company. He spent the next 20 years in roles of increasing responsibility, from general manager in Cleveland and Chicago to vice president of Operations and Contract Businesses based in Atlanta.

In 2009, Matt moved to Brentwood and purchased Right at Home, a non-medical home health care agency serving Nashville and the surrounding counties. He currently serves as its president and general manager.

Matt and his wife Sandy are parents to Audrey, a senior at Ravenwood High School, and Maxx, a freshman at Ravenwood.

Deb Enright

Along with her husband, Jim, and daughters, Casey and Caroline, Enright has called Brentwood home for a decade.

She attended Vassar College and Vanderbilt University, collecting several degrees along the way. Deb was raised in the Washington, D.C., area making her fascination with politics, leadership and history somewhat innate. She remains a diehard Redskins fan, but has vigorously cheered the Titans at every opportunity. She loves to travel, visiting as many museums as possible at each stop.

Deb teaches on the preschool and middle school levels. On July 28, 2011, as a founding faculty member, Deb helped to open a brand-new charter middle school in the Metropolitan Nashville school system: STEM Preparatory Academy.

Her active volunteer efforts include membership on the leadership team for the development efforts of her undergraduate school, responsibilities as a spokesperson for the Susan G. Komen Foundation for the Cure, and serving as an educational resource for her church.

Anna Freeman

At attorney, Freeman has been in private practice since 2001. She opened the Law Office of Anna Freeman, PLLC, in July 2009, focusing on family and juvenile law. She graduated from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Prior to attending law school, Anna attended Appalachian State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration.

Anna is a member of the Nashville and American Bar Associations and Young Leaders Council. She serves as an advisory board member with Saddle Up! and volunteers with Saddle Up! and Prevent Child Abuse Tennessee.

Anna has lived and worked in Brentwood for the last 10 years.

Amanda Garber

Garber has been the marketing manager for Costco Wholesale since 2006. She oversees all marketing and business development representatives and is responsible for the lifeblood of Costco’s business model: membership. Her client base consists of for-profit and not-for profit businesses as well as many organizations, agencies, associations and clubs.

Amanda’s awards include “Best Overall Membership Performance 2010” and “Highest Fundraising % Increase in the South East.” She holds 19 regional rankings in various categories and nine corporate rankings in various categories.

Amanda serves as a board member for the Cool Springs YMCA. She is also involved in Cable, REO, Wrap, THAP and the Tennessee Christian Chamber. She is also the donation coordinator, United Way coordinator and Children’s Miracle Network coordinator for Costco Wholesale.

Amanda and her husband, Tim, have a 7-year-old son, Ty, who is a star football player for his Spring Hill Raiders C squad.

Keely Hall

Hall grew up in Lubbock, Texas, where he developed an appreciation for small-town values, genuine relationships and Texas Rangers baseball. A graduate of Pepperdine University, Keely and his wife, Melissa, moved from Orange County, Calif. to Williamson County in August 2000 after undergoing several months of research to find the best place in the nation to raise their family. For the last 10 years, Keely, Melissa and their three daughters have called Williamson County home.

Keely has over 15 years of experience in banking and organizational management. He is an active member of the Otter Creek Church, Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce, Nashville Business Forum and BNI. He has held various levels of management positions in some of the area’s largest banks.

After his years of experience in working with large, super-regional banks, Keely made an intentional move to the community-centered relationship banking approach of FirstBank and was hired by the Tennessee-headquartered bank specifically to open the new branch office in Maryland Farms and to build FirstBank’s overall market presence in Brentwood and Williamson County. He now serves as vice president and financial center manager with FirstBank.

Ryan Harris

Harris was born and raised in the Oak Hill area of Nashville. Upon graduating from Trevecca University with a degree in teaching and learning, he taught math and science at Winstead Elementary for two years. He then worked for Williamson County Schools as an instructional technology and academic coach, working with teachers to implement engaging lessons for students utilizing technology and other manipulative resources. After serving in that role for a year, he longed to return to the classroom, working with students in a more active way. He began teaching sixth grade at Page Middle School, where he also coached golf and basketball and assisted with the baseball team.

During his second year as a teacher at Page and upon completion of his master’s degree, Ryan was accepted into and completed Williamson County Schools’ Leadership Academy for aspiring principals. In the fall of 2008, he accepted a position as the assistant principal of Edmondson Elementary. A year and a half later, he accepted a position as the principal of Nolensville Elementary, where he currently serves.

Ryan and his wife, Angie, recently completed the construction of their new home in Brentwood. Angie has started her own business as a QuickBooks Pro advisor and consultant.

Tiffany Jones

Jones, who has worked in the banking profession for 15 years, is a financial advisor based at Pinnacle’s Brentwood office. Previously, she worked at Bank of America in both the Premier and Business Banking areas. Prior to joining Bank of America, Tiffany served as an assistant manager at Union Planters Bank.

Tiffany currently serves on the board of the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber. She is co-chair of the chamber’s Engagement Committee, and she has worked to support the Health Expo and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.

Tiffany attended Middle Tennessee State University. She and her husband, Derrick, have a daughter, Talia Rhea, who will be 2 in September. Her 17-year-old stepson, Kindrick Jones, plays football at Cane Ridge and was recently in the Murphy Fair Book for his football skills. She also has three small dogs.

Tiffany’s hobbies include extreme couponing and enjoying pool/beach time.

Zak Keiper

Keiper is currently a senior account executive with Windstream Communications. He began working in the technology and telecom industries in 2000. He is an expert in business voice, data, internet access, data centers and cloud computing. Zak enjoys solving business problems and helping his customers grow, seeing himself as a long-term partner.

Zak also has experience leading personnel and managing business contracts. In addition to working in the telecom industry, he has overseen regional operations for Clear Choice, USA Windows and managed valet parking contracts at some of Nashville’s largest hotels for Towne Park, Ltd.

Zak attended Father Ryan High School in Nashville. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State University.

He and his wife, Ellie, have one daughter.

Zak is active in his community and serves on several boards in Williamson and Davidson Counties.

Steve Lewis

Steve Lewis was born in Casper, Wyo. After a short time in Denver, his family moved to Glasgow, Ky. where Steve was raised. At Glasgow High School, he was a member of the 1968 State Basketball Championship team. He received a degree in mass communications from Western Kentucky University, where he met Laura, his wife of 37 years.

One of Steve’s early jobs was selling Bibles door to door with the Southwestern Company, which helped pay his way through college. Steve began working full time with Southwestern/Great American in 1976. He moved to Tennessee in 1983, where he continued working as a regional vice president. He retired in 2005 and began working full time with Habitat for Humanity in 2006 after volunteering for three years.

Steve and Laura have two adult children. His daughter, Brooke, is a producer for Channel 5 in Memphis, and his son, Shane, works for Southwestern Business Resources and lives in Spring Hill. Steve and Laura have three grandchildren.

Steve attends Franklin First Presbyterian Church, where he serves as an elder and chairman of the Missions Committee.

John Lowry

Dr. John Lowry is associate dean of the Lipscomb University College of Business and founder of the School of Executive Education. He also serves as an assistant professor of management and regularly teaches negotiation courses at Pepperdine University School of Law and Southern Methodist University. He is a board member of the Brentwood/Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce and served on the Education & Events Committee for Leadership Health Care in Nashville.

Lowry also serves as vice president for the Strategic Resolutions Group, LLC (SRG). At SRG, he provides negotiation, mediation, and conflict management training for major insurance companies, health care organizations and other businesses. Throughout his career, he has trained thousands of professionals around the country. Prior to moving to Nashville, he practiced law with Strasburger & Price, LLP in Dallas, Texas.

John earned his bachelor’s degree in speech communications from Pepperdine University and master’s degree in religion from Abilene Christian University. He received his juris doctorate degree from Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law. He has also completed graduate work in dispute resolution at the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law and in public policy at California State University, Sacramento.

John and his wife, Melissa, have two young children.

Celeste Patterson

Patterson is the COO/CFO of H.G. Hill Realty Company, LLC., where she has worked since 1999. Celeste began her career at Ernst & Young and then moved to a real estate company in Jacksonville, Florida. Upon relocating to Nashville, she worked at Eckenfelder Inc. for 11 years as the company’s CFO.

Celeste has lived in Brentwood since 1988. She and her husband, Doug Meech, have two children.

Celeste serves on various nonprofit boards and is the leader of a Girl Scout troop of 12 high-school sophomores who have been together since elementary school.

Celeste earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.

James Story

James Story is a native of Lawrenceburg, Tenn. and a graduate of the University of Mississippi's School of Business in Oxford, Miss. After college, he moved to Washington, D.C., to work for a government relations firm, Barbour Griffith and Rogers, LLC (now BGR Group) as the associate of Corporate Affairs. James moved back to Tennessee to work in the financial services industry at Southeast Financial FCU and then Northwestern Mutual Financial Network as a financial advisor and business specialist. Today, James is president of Story Capital Group, LLC, and works primarily with business owners, financial institutions and government entities. Story Capital Group and its associate partners, specialists and support staff help clients implement group and individual insurance and investment strategies. James is also president and partner of Culp Story & Associates, LLC, an insurance agency located in Southern Middle Tennessee.

James sits on The Phoenix Club of Nashville’s Board as VP of Membership and on Cumberland University’s Business Advisory Board. In 2010, he was named as one of “Nashville’s Top 30 Under 30.” He has volunteered with CFF’s Circle of Hope, Boys and Girls Club, Hope Clinic for Women, Habitat for Humanity, Rotary Club’s Christmas for Kids, MDA-Jerry’s Kids, Lawrence County High’s Project 100, and the Interfaith Dental Clinic.

James and his wife Jena, an attorney, reside in Nashville’s West Meade area.

Josh Terry

Josh Terry was born in Louisville, Ky. and raised in Johnson City, Tenn. He attended Lipscomb University, earning bachelor’s degrees in finance-economics and management.

Josh is an owner in two companies: Tennessee Title Service, LLC, and Raymond Preston and Reed, LLC. Both companies are located in Brentwood.

Josh met his wife, Mandi, at Lipscomb, and they have been married nine years. They have two children: Preston, who will be 5 in October, and Madelynn (Maddi), who will be 2 in January. Mandi teaches elementary school at Crieve Hall Elementary in Nashville. The family attends Brentwood Hills Church of Christ.

Jeremy Westmoreland

Jeremy Westmoreland joined Barge Waggoner Sumner & Cannon Inc. (BWSC) in 2008 after running his own small engineering practice for three years. As a project engineer, he has been involved in the civil design of local projects such as Gale Lofts, Jefferson Loft Apartments and the flood recovery efforts at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center. In addition, Jeremy is currently the lead engineer for the civil engineering of the Music City Center and the Omni Hotel and Country Music Hall of Fame expansion located in downtown Nashville. As a technical manager, Jeremy helps oversee the design and production of the civil department staff in Nashville for BWSC.

Jeremy is originally from Memphis, where he graduated from the University of Memphis with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with honors.

Jeremy is married to Molly, and they have three children: Sarah, Luke and Nate.

Kelly Williams

Kelly D. Williams began her banking career with AmSouth Bank in 2003 and held various retail positions before leaving in 2007 to join Reliant Bank. Kelly currently manages Reliant’s main office located in Brentwood.

Kelly is the acting president of the local chapter of Women in Insurance and Financial Services. She also served on the 2011/2012 Williamson County United Way Allocations Committee. Kelly regularly volunteers with the American Red Cross and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Kelly is a recent graduate of the Southeastern School of Banking. She also holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in marketing from Western Kentucky University.
