Laura Denise Mitchell passed away on December 24, 2011 at the age of 48.  Born Laura Denise Nelson on October 5, 1963, she graduated in 1981 from Hillwood High School in Nashville and from Memphis State University in 1985.  Laura married Curtis Scott Mitchell on May 25, 1985. 

Mrs. Mitchell taught school at Harpeth High School in Kingston Springs from 2000 – 2007 and at Brentwood High School from 2007-2010.

Preceded in death by her father, Harold Glenn Nelson, she is survived by her husband of 26 years, Curt Mitchell; daughters, Lindsey Erin and Whitney Brooke Mitchell; mother, Linda Clifton Nelson and sister, Anita Nelson Drew. 

The family will receive friends from 5-8- p.m. on Tuesday, December 27 at Grace Community Church, located at 5711 Granny White Pike in Brentwood.  To honor Laura’s life, Rev. Scott Patty and Dr. Neil Spence will conduct a service at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 28at the church with burial immediately following at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.  

Active pallbearers are Chris Crawford, Bobby Ferrell, Albert Mitchell, Don Mitchell, John Maines and Ronnie Seigenthaler.
