Williamson County Schools' District 6 board member Terry Leve has shared the latest proposed 2010-11 academic calendar that was distributed to board members on Wednesday. The board is expected to vote on next year’s school calendar at its regularly scheduled meeting Monday.

The latest proposal follows guidelines the board requested the Central Office to consider following last week’s work session when three earlier proposed calendars were discussed.

According to Leve, these are the new suggested dates:
 

First day of school: Thursday, Aug. 12

Last day of first semester: Friday, Dec. 17

First day of second semester: Wednesday, Jan. 5

Last day of second semester: Wednesday, May 25

Labor Day: Sept. 6

Fall Break: Oct. 18

Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 22-26

MLK Day, Jan. 17

President's Day: Feb. 21

Staff Development: March 18

Spring Break, March 21-25

Good Friday: April 22

This calendar provides 85 days of instruction the first semester, and 92 the second.

 

Conferences will be set as 1/2 day of school and 1/2 day of conferences on Tuesday, Sept. 14 and Thursday, Sept. 16.
