Brentwood Home Page news reports Ravenwood's girls soccer team won a District 11-AAA battle with Independence in overtime 2-1 Thursday when the Raptors scored early on a free kick by junior Mackenzie Kastner.
RHS is now 3-0 overall, 1-0 in district play.
It was an exciting and well played game, with Independence getting on the board in the first half on sophomore Morgan Jackson's goal following a blocked corner kick.
Ravenwood senior Christy Padgett, however, evened it up in the second half with the regulation ending 1-1.
The Lady Raptors play their first road match on Tuesday, Sept. 13, at Siegel, before playing big back-to-back district games at unbeaten Franklin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, and at rival Brentwood at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 20.
