Brentwood Home Page news reports Ravenwood defeated host Antioch 8-0 in regional semifinal play Tuesday night to advance to the Region 6-AAA final at Franklin and also make the sectional round.
The Lady Raptors got first-half goals from Caitlin Boone, on a assist Halie Lemasters; Rose Hull, unassisted; and Emma Rose, unassisted.
Although the first half saw a lackluster performance by his team, RHS Coach Ken White said the Lady Raptors had a solid performance in the second half with five more goals.
Haley Leonard and Eleanor scored on assists by Kenya Freeman, then Leffler got her second goal on an assist by Ali Sadler. Allie Parrott found the net, with an assist by Lindsey Todd.
The final Raptors goal was scored by Maddie Holcomb on her birthday, assisted by Alyse Rothenberger.
Ravenwood will visit undefeated Franklin at 6 p.m. Wednesday for the regional championship, with the winner hosting Saturday’s sectional for a chance to make next week’s state tournament in Chattanooga. The runner-up will also get a shot at state by traveling to another region’s winner in the sectional round.
The Lady Rebels, who won 10-0 over McGavock on Tuesday, is 2-0 against RHS this season with victories in the regular season and the District 11-AAA final.
