Ravenwood boys complete sweep; BA splits on road at USN

Logan Hodskins and Erin Johnson scored 12 points apiece to pace Ravenwood to a 47-42 overtime victory over visiting Cheatham County on Friday night.

Jayne Rice added nine points for the Lady Raptors (4-2), and Lexi McKay chipped in with eight points. Brandi Devore and Colyn Springer each hit a 3-pointer in the non-district basketball game.

RHS took a 12-8 lead in the opening quarter and stretched it to 23-17 at the half. But the Lady Raptors lost a 32-24 advantage going into the final period as the Lady Cubs outscored RHS 13-5 to knot the score 37-37.

Ravenwood travels to Smyrna on Tuesday night for a double-header with the boys team, then both teams return home for games Friday, Dec. 9, against Siegel. 

Ravenwood 63, Cheatham Co. 58, boys

Andy Moore netted 15 points including a 3-pointer and Joey Barnes scored 13 in Ravenwood's homecourt win against Cheatham County.

The Raptors (6-1) also got 11 points from Mike McAllister, who nailed a pair of 3-point shots. J.P. Leiderbach scored 7 and Branndon Jones 5 points.

RHS made an eight-point halftime lead stand up despite getting outscored 18-13 in the final quarter.

Ravenwood, which plays at Smyrna on Tuesday and hosts Siegel next Friday, had won its first five games before a narrow loss last week.

Brentwood Academy 52, USN 40, girls

Hailey Pierson poured 15 points and India Hall had 11 in the Lady Eagles' road win at University School of Nashville.

Brentwood Academy (4-3) was ahead by just two points after a quarter, but pushed the lead to 32-21 by halftime and 43-26 after three quarters.

Maren Kreid and Ali Smith had seven points each for BA. Lizz Pease sank a couple of 3s, and Kredi had the Eagles' other 3-pointer.

BA travels to Christ Presbyterian on Tuesday for a double-header with the Eagles boys team, followed by a trip to Cookeville next Friday, Dec. 9.

USN 50, Brentwood Academy 42, boys

BA took a 9-8 advantage in the first quarter but fell behind by 3 points at the half, then 34-24 after the third quarter in a loss to host University School of Nashville.

Josh Lester was the top scorer for the Eagles with 8 points, and Tyler Emery added 7 points. Eric Henninger hit the team's only 3-pointer.

Brentwood Academy (0-3) plays host to Jackson Christian boys team at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, then visits CPA on Tuesday and Cookeville Friday in twinbills with the girls squad. Both BA varsity teams won't play again after that until Jan 3.
