For more than 20 years, this Brentwood-based company has set the standard in new construction, with projects ranging from small homes to multimillion dollar estates. In fact, KP Properties offers a comprehensive selection of services, including home additions, remodeling, outdoor living, and exterior and landscaping work.
“Whatever size the project, clients can count on receiving the same level of service and attention to detail,” says Tyler Pennington, who owns and operates the business alongside his father, Kelvin Pennington.
Kelvin actually started out as a real estate agent in Brentwood in the late 1980s, but quickly moved to the construction side of the business, building his first house in 1988. He soon established a reputation for excellence in both Williamson and southern Davidson counties.
Over the years, the business has branched out to include everything from small remodels and additions to the development of more than 20 condos. Most recently, KP Properties has focused on building custom and spec houses in the Brentwood, Tyne Boulevard, Vanderbilt, and 12 South communities.
Tyler grew up working around his father’s job sites, and even started a floor fastening business while still in high school. He obtained his contractor and real estate licensing as a college student, officially joining the family business after completing his degree in accounting.
“I’ve been around this business my whole life,” he says. “I saw the care my father took with projects and how he handled clients, and I think I always knew that I wanted to follow in his footsteps.”
But along with offering a tradition of craftsmanship, the Penningtons maintain a solid commitment to quality service.
“The key to our success lies in building strong relationships,” Tyler says. “Open communication is important, and we strive to be upfront and honest from beginning to end. The ultimate goal is to give our clients everything they want and need in a home. But it’s a team effort, and we’re honored to be part of that process.”
