Under a cloudless sky, Hannah Welbourn and James Kho were crowned Ravenwood High School’s 2010 Homecoming Queen and King.

Their coronation marked the culmination of a week of homecoming activities and competitions that drew each of the classes closer together and brought all of the Raptors together for the highlight’s of the week, which included Friday’s parade, powder puff football game, pep rally and, of course, the big game, in which the Raptors sadly lost to Franklin Road Academy 21-7.

Joining Hannah and James on the court were freshman attendants Tiano Castillo and Mason Kukowski; sophomore court attendants Madison Wheat and Michael Giangreco; junior attendants Helen Wu and Abdul Abdelwahed, and senior attendants Destinee White and Keegan Leyrer.

At halftime, Spirit Week awards were also presented and the Juniors won big, real big. The Class of 2012 came in first in the Dress Up Days competition; the Spirit Award for the pep rally, and won the 2010 Homecoming float competition with its “Pancake the Panthers” theme.

The three first-place finishes left no doubt among those attending the game that this year’s overall winner for Ravenwood’s 2010 Homecoming Celebration is the Class of 2012.

The annual Homecoming dance immediately followed the game.
