Joann Deering Hill, age 74 of Franklin, formerly of Scottsville, Ky. died September 16, 2011. She was an active member of Brentwood Baptist Church and a Metro School Teacher for over 20 years. Mrs. Hill was also an avid member of the YMCA, a world traveler and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

She was the daughter of the late Gilbert Ray and Idell Follis Deering. She is survived by her husband, David Hill of Franklin; sons, David (Melanie) Hill of Franklin, and Stephen (Bridget) Hill of Panama City Beach, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Madeleine, Emery, Lauren and Mason Hill.

Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, at Brentwood Baptist Church, Baskin Chapel, with Dr. Michael Glenn officiating. Visitation will be noon to 2 p.m. at the church.  Entombment will follow in the Remembrance Mausoleum at Williamson Memorial Gardens. Family and Friends will serve as pallbearers.
