DI teams compete for right to move to state tourney Brentwood Home Page news reports More than 120 Destination Imagination teams – 121 to be exact -- representing Williamson County Schools, Franklin Special School District and area private schools descended upon Brentwood Middle School on Saturday, March 12, for the annual regional tournament.
In DI, teams comprised of a handful of students, who range from kindergarteners to high schoolers, pick a challenge then solve it by creating skits, costumes, props, etc. entirely on their own. Any parental help results in the team’s disqualification.
The teams’ solutions are presented to a panel of appraisers that award points. Students learn many life-long skills such as thinking outside the box, problem solving, and team work.
