Annual fundraiser Saturday at Brentwood Baptist Brentwood Home Page news reports The Brentwood Lions Club’s 11th annual Country Ham Breakfast returns on Saturday, Dec. 3, for what has become a local holiday tradition. Serving time is 7 to 11 am in at Brentwood Baptist Church’s Wilson Hall.
Be prepared for home-cooked breakfast of country ham, scrambled eggs, hot biscuits, grits, pancakes, milk, orange juice and bottomless cups of hot, fresh-brewed coffee. All this is prepared by experienced volunteer cooks. In addition, an array of cakes, cookies, candies and pastries designed for the upcoming holiday season will be available at the bake sale, as will fresh-crop Georgia pecans.
Live Christmas music, both traditional and popular, will be performed throughout the morning.
Breakfast proceeds go directly to Brentwood Lions Charities with a portion being directed to the Tennessee Lions Children’s Eye Center at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Since the beginning of the club’s vision screening program over 11 years ago, Lions across the state have provided screened more than 332,752 pre-school children in Tennessee. Over 17,055 have been referred to specialists, the result being that thousands of children have been spared a life of impaired vision or blindness. This program, which originated in Tennessee, has spread to all 50 states and many foreign countries.
Lions Clubs also provide eye care including examinations, eyeglasses, surgery when needed, Leader dogs and training for those who may not be able to afford these services.
The annual breakfast presents a great opportunity for families, clubs, Sunday School classes, business groups and other organizations to get together for a Christmas Party. The cost is $8 for adults and $4 for children. Brentwood Baptist Church is located at 7777 West Concord Road just off exit 71 on I-65 in Brentwood.
