The Lord Chamberlain is commanded by the Queen to invite Mrs. Susan Corbell Taylor Leathers to the marriage of His Royal Highness Prince William of Wales, K.G. with Miss Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey on Friday, 29th April, 2011 at 11.00 a.m.

I’m in! Well, I haven’t received my “pale brown envelope” yet, but since it had to travel across the Atlantic and today is a Federal holiday with no mail delivery, I have no doubt my official invite to the wedding of the century will arrive bright and early Tuesday when my Meadowlake mailman puts it in my mailbox right along with the credit card offers and City of Brentwood water bill.

Now, I don’t really expect to be invited to the lunchtime reception the Queen is hosting since we’re not that close, but who really cares about that anyway. I just want an aisle seat to see the dress and the royals as they parade in and out.

I understand Barack and Michelle didn’t make the cut since Wills is only the second in line to the throne.  And Sarah won’t be there, though those party girls Beatrice and Eugenie are invited. If you have anything you’d like me to ask the happy couple or pick up for you while I’m on the island, just let me know.

Well, I’ve got to go see if I can snag a dress at Macy’s or Belk or Dillards. I’m sure they’ll have something suitable on sale … and I’ve got coupons.
