Woman's Club benefit raises domestic violence awareness Brentwood Home Page news reports To get a sneak peek at how some of Williamson and Davidson county’s best host and hostesses will dress their tables for family celebrations this holiday season, look no further than the Brentwood Woman’s Club's Holiday Tablescapes Event, beginning at 10 a.m. next Tuesday.
The holiday fundraising event will take place at Brentwood Country Club, 5123 Country Club Drive, just off Franklin Road.
A ‘tablescape’ is an arrangement of items in groupings highlighting creative ideas for your own holiday table.
“This will be a nice way to begin the holiday season with your girlfriends or a club or just by yourself to get ideas and inspiration for your own Christmas and New Year’s celebrations,” club president Mary Phillips said.
Participating tablescape designers include Dillard's, Michelle Cox from Centered Staging and the Brentwood Garden Club. The items used to decorate the tables will be offered for sale at the event.
A variety of door prizes will also be given away.
For those already missing Brentwood’s holiday landmark – the nativity mural on the now-destroyed Cal Turner barn -- there will be hand-painted Christmas ornaments for sale replicating the scene residents and visitors have grown to love over the years.
“These ornaments are exclusive for our club and proceeds from the sale of these ornaments will help fund our club community projects,” Phillips said.
The Brentwood High School Choral Choir will entertain at the event, under the direction of Natalie Pratt, a former BHS student.
Bridges of Williamson County’s executive director, Linda Jackson, will provide information about the local domestic violence shelter and Bridges’ staff members will be special guests at the event. Domestic violence is an area of focus for the club, which provides Christmas gifts for a shelter family each year.
Tickets for Holiday Tablescapes event and luncheon are $24. To make reservations, contact Kathy Casey at edkathkc1@att.net. For more information about the Brentwood Woman’s Club, which always welcomes new members, visit http://www.bwctn.com.
