Holiday music at Scales plus other happenings

Holiday music will be presented at the 11 a.m. lunch each day at Scales Elementary by the fourth-grade students and at noon by the fifth-grade students in Gail Merritt’s music classes.

WSMV's Dan Thomas talked about weather with fourth-graders. Dylan Hooper, Caroline Cavin, Olivia Moody, Kaitlyn Crosby and Caroline Cuuse show support for Ch. 4.
Ryan Hayes and his father Phil Hayes and Adaugo Nwachuku and her father Ugo Nwachuku enjoy doughnuts coffee and juice during Doughnuts for Dads.

There is also a Holiday Concert with students in Chorus, Instrumental Ensemble and String Ensemble at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13.

The Chorus students will sing at Chick-Fil-A at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15.

Other happenings at Scales recently:

Hoop Shoot winners are Corrine Brown, Haley Sanders, Claire Cherry, Carson Todd, Hannah Roberson, Caroline Cherry, Ellie Hensley, Ben Mills, Russell Mills and Blaine Warmbrod. Jessica Krones' second-grade class won a Papa John Pizza party, and Tracy Rogers and Tara Douce’s classes won the Golden Skate Award.

Fifth-graders have been researching different countries to represent in the Winter Olympics. The choices were: for Melody Scott’s class, France; Brent Oakley’s class, England; Meg Chapman’s class, India; Debbie Heiman’s class, Mexico; and Irene Vorbusch’s class, Fiji.

The school Fire Prevention poster winners were Katie Duncan, Phillip Huam, Grace Cestaro, Winston Brown, Siv Ganered, and Rachel Mayhugh.
