Brentwood-based Guy Brown Products announced in June that Tera Vazquez had become majority owner of the company with 51 percent of the ownership. Now, with Vazquez, president, CEO and now majority owner, Guy Brown Products has earned the coveted certification of Women’s Business Enterprise from the Women’s Business Enterprise National Business Council.

Hundreds of major corporations turn to the Women's Business Enterprise National Council to identify women-owned businesses to satisfy their contract needs. WBENC issues a Gold Standard, national certification to women-owned businesses to ensure a qualified database of WBENC Certified Women Business Enterprises (WBEs).

 “We are delighted to have secured this new certification from WBENC. This adds another opportunity to reach major clients wanting to do business with a solid minority-owned company,” Vazquez said.

WBENC Certification validates that the business is 51 percent owned, controlled, operated and managed by a woman or women. To achieve WBENC Certification, women-owned businesses complete a formal documentation and site visit process which is administered by one of WBENC's 14 Regional Partner Organizations. WBENC Certification gives women-owned businesses the ability to compete for real-time business opportunities provided by WBENC Corporate Members.

Guy Brown continues to retain its prior Minority Business Enterprise certifications and Small Disadvantaged Business designation as the company is still 100 percent minority owned.
