Diane Eubank's photo on the theme of Rust was shot at a gold mining ghost town in California.

The Brentwood Photography Group announced it Photos of the Month winners for August:

Tom Thompson photographed two bucks tussling in Fieldstone Farms.

Themed Photo of the Month: "Rust" by Diane Eubanks

August's Theme of the Month was Rust, and Diane Eubank's photo is the category winner. "This photo was taken at Bodie State Park in California, a gold mining ghost town in a state of arrested decay," Eubanks said.

She used a Canon 5D Mark II on a tripod with a Canon Canon 24-105mm lens.

Open Category Photo of the Month: "Dancing Bucks" by Tom Thompson

"Dancing Bucks," Brentwood Photography Group's Open Photo of the Month winner, was photographed by Tom Thompson. "This picture was shot the morning of July 29 in Fieldstone Farms.  I went out to get the paper and saw two doe and a fawn,"Thompson said. "After retrieving my camera from the house, I started shooting the fawn when the two bucks came out of the woods. They started tussling on four legs then rose on their hind legs and began pawing each other. It is early for the rut so they were probably just practicing for later."

 The image was made with a Nikon D700 with 400mm/F2.8 lens; this image has not been altered.
