Sure, it's baseball season but that doesn't stop the Ravenwood Raptors from playing a little football.

Nope, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. On Thursday, just weeks before district tournaments start for spring sports, the Ravenwood Raptors decided to play a little football.
The annual Red/White Inter-squad Scrimmage game took place on the team’s practice field and Head Coach Tom Shuman couldn’t be happier with how his spring practice has gone.
“Our intensity is a little better than it was at this time last year. If we are going to be a good team, we will have to get a little more focused and a little more intense every day from here on out.
“I think we have gotten a pretty good start with the offensive changes we are trying to affect, and the defense is pretty much on track, considering we are missing some guys I would consider starters due to lacrosse, rugby, baseball and track,” he said.
The scrimmage served another purpose too – as a warm up to tonight’s 6:30 p.m. scrimmage under the lights against the Lincoln County Falcons.
Shuman also gave his assistant coaches a shout out.
“(They) have done a great job juggling careers ands flood response and family to put together some pretty good practices. School is a little different during all of this testing and it stretches us pretty good.
“The men have responded very well to that,” he added, of both his coaches and their players.
But he did offer them all a challenge:
“I hope Lincoln County comes up here tonight ready to fight. I want to see if we are ready to fight back when someone roughs us up.”
