Cool Springs practice offers less waiting, more time, house calls

Brentwood Home Page news reports
There’s a new name on the door at Suite 101 Physician’s Plaza in Cool Springs, but the change is more than just on the nameplate.

GracePointe Healthcare, which has a grand opening Thursday, June 23,  is one of the very first in Tennessee to offer a new model of Self-Pay and Smart Care.

Simplicity is one of the things GracePointe boasts about as an option for consumers of medical services. Rob Tomsett, PA-C, has taken on the lion’s share of the patient care for Dr. Edward Leichner’s established family practice and is opening up opportunities for a different level of care that he calls “patient-centered care.”

Fewer patients will be scheduled each day with a cushion of time in between so that appointments can go long if necessary. Walk-ins may be seen between appointments.

GracePointe Healthcare
grand opening

When:
5-7 p.m., Thursday, June 23

Where: 740 Cool Springs Blvd. Suite 110, Physician’s Plaza

Who: Dr. Edward Leichner announces Robert M. Tomsett Jr., PA-C, to the ownership of self-pay, family practice

What: Wine and hors d’oeuvres will be served, a new Kindle given away.

Tomsett intends for the wait time in the office to be shorter, he says, and each patient to have the time to address whatever issues they want to during their visit. Rob will also make house calls after office hours.

Simplicity also rules regarding the billing system -- there is none. This new model of medical care has made its way into many states now and is known simply as Self-Pay. As the name implies, you pay at the time that you are seen.

Tomsett says that he can save enough on the cost of filing and processing claims, to make you a better deal. One doctor who has used the model in North Carolina for nine years and says he has saved approximately $250,000 per year in administrative costs.

With Self-Pay there is no more waiting for permission to be seen and no “pre-authorization” for tests. GracePointe aims to give excellent care for which you pay less than the average cost of an office visit.

Patients will receive a “super bill” to file for reimbursement if they have insurance.  If they have no insurance, patients only need to pay the bill at the time of service and it is sure to be less than an emergency room or the fee of a conventional doctor’s office.
