Scales storage shed wins approval Brentwood Home Page news reports It was a fairly quiet night for the Williamson County Board of Education when it met Monday, Oct. 24.
In the Superintendent’s Report, Dr. Mike Looney shared that U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) visited Westwood Elementary on Monday.
In the Board Chairman’s Report, Pat Anderson welcomed Tim Gaddis to his first meeting as the Teaching, Learning and Assessment Director.
In New Business, the Board:
- Approved two policies on first reading including Family Life Education and Graduation with Honors.
- Approved two budget amendments including one for $260,586 to replace three special education buses and one for $12,742 to reconcile an adult education grant.
- Approved a Code of Ethics for the Board.
- Did not take action on a request for a Board hearing.
In other action, the Board:
- Approved recommended field trip fee requests.
- Approved a budget time line.
- Approved a storage shed at Scales Elementary School.
Each school principal has a copy of the Board packet information. The next regular meeting of the WCBE will be Monday, Nov. 1, at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium of the Administrative Complex.
