Brentwood Home Page news reports With a precision a Barnes & Noble manager would envy, members of the Friends of the Brentwood Library are busy setting up dozens of tables in the library's large meeting room and topping them with thousands of volumes neatly organized by genre – fiction, non-fiction, biographies, travel books, cookbooks, religious books, collectibles and more.
This week’s Friends of the Brentwood Library’s first Quarterly Book Sale opens Thursday. Hours are Thursday 11 a.m.- 7 p.m., Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday, 10 a.m.- 5 p.m.
The Friends' online book sale through Amazon has also become a big part of its annual sales. Its "storefront" is at http://www.amazon.com/shops/friendsbooksters.
All monies from the book sales go directly back into the library. Recent donations have included new mechanical shades in meeting rooms; window shades in the Brentwood Room to preserve the collection of archival materials; funding for the Summer Reading Program, including instructors and performers, supplies, printed materials and prizes; and funds for extra computers, scanners, software, web page development and other technical enhancements.
The library is located at 8109 Concord Road.
