Term limits, city budgets show differences

The field of six hopefuls seeking one of four seats on the Brentwood City Commission candidates began separating themselves Tuesday night at a Candidates Forum hosted by the Brentwood Woman’s Club.

It wasn’t a matter of winners and losers in the closest thing to a debate citizens will see this campaign season. Instead they began to vocalize differing thoughts on topics such as city funding opportunities and challenges and term limits.

A respectable but not capacity crowd attended the 90-minute forum held in the Municipal Building’s board room. All of the candidates – Bert Bosse, Jill Burgin, Betsy Crossley, Anne Dunn, Rod Freeman and Brenda Lehman attended. The forum was moderated by Charles Dibrell of WAKM-950 AM. Questions were asked by Bonnie Burch, Williamson A.M.’s Brentwood/Nolensville beat writer, Donna O’Neill, who covers the city for The Williamson Herald, and myself, representing Brentwood Home Page.
