Ravenwood faces four Top 10 teams in 'Murphy Fair Magazine' coaches' voting
Brentwood Home Page news reports Brentwood High is ranked seventh in the state in Class 6A preseason voting by coaches in Murphy Fair's Tennessee High School Football Magazine, and Brentwood Academy is picked second among Division II-AA teams.
BHS will face three of the teams in the 6A Top 10 during the regular season, starting with No. 4 Smyrna in the home-opener on Aug. 26.
The Bruins then end the season back-to-back with No. 3 Blackman and 2,000-yard running back I'Tavius Mathers on Senior Night at BHS Oct. 21. and a road trip on Oct. 28 to Franklin, tied for 10th.
Unranked Ravenwood will play four of the Top 10 teams, starting with a visit to rival Brentwood High on Sept. 16. The Raptors then face Franklin at home Sept. 30 and the next week travel to Oakland, on Oct. 7.
Ravenwood also will play fourth-ranked Smyrna at RHS on Oct. 21.
BA, which lost in the II-AA semifinals to eventual state champ Ensworth last season, was chosen behind the top-ranked Tigers in the coaches' predictions. The two teams will battle on the Eagles' home field on Oct. 21.
Brentwood Academy also visits No. 4 MBA on Sept. 2 and hosts No. 5 Baylor on Sept. 30.
