St. Mark's invites community to join the fun Brentwood Home Page news reports Allison Krauss won’t be there but a member of Union Station will be. Ron Block, the talented songwriter, guitarist, banjo player and vocalist who accompanies the sweetest voice in bluegrass and Americana music, will perform at Sunday’s Fall Fest hosted by St. Mark’s Reformed Church on the grounds of Brentwood First Presbyterian Church, 1301 Franklin Road.
All are invited to the festival, which runs from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m.
“Ron Block is a not a member of our church, but is an acquaintance of mine, and a fine Christian gentleman who was available and agreed to play. We're very excited about his willingness to come,” Pastor Joe Thacker said.
In addition to Block’s 5 p.m. performance, there will be a BYOP (Bring your own Pumpkin) carving contest, arts and crafts and inflatables and face painting for the kids. Free food will be served but you must sign up for a free food voucher at www.stmarkreformed.org/2011-fall-festival.
St. Mark’s began meeting at Brentwood First Presbyterian in June, but formed five years ago. Sunday services are 11 a.m. in the sanctuary with Sunday School at 9:45 in the church basement. Brentwood First Presbyterian worships at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary.
