Autumn Foliage Hikes, 1-3 p.m. Tuesdays through Nov. 15: This adults-only afternoon autumn foliage hike takes place over the changing hills with an interpretative guide. Cameras and binoculars are welcome, and the hike begins promptly at 1 p.m.
Cost is $7 per person in advance and $10 at the game. Reservations are preferred
Hoots and Hayrides, Sunday, Oct. 23, 1-5 pm.: All ages are welcome to enjoy the beautiful Middle Tennessee autumn weather in this secluded valley surrounded by maples and oaks dressed in fall colors. This annual festival features hayrides around the wildflower meadow, pumpkins to take home and a chance to paint them, a visit with the bee man, owl programs, hiking, games, races, face painting and much more.
Bring your own picnic or purchase a freshly grilled hotdog at Mother Nature's Cafe'. Cost is $12/person in advance; $15/person at the gate (Age 2 and under free). Fee includes pumpkin. Reservations preferred.
Happy Trails Dog Walk, Saturday, Nov. 5, 10 a.m.-noon: People and dogs of all ages are welcome to this opportunity for well-behaved leashed dogs to enjoy walking the Dogwood and Pawpaw trails. Cost is $10 per dog in advance, $15 per dog at the gate. Advance registration is recommended.
Knee High Naturalist: Greet the Owls, Monday, Nov. 7 or Tues. Nov.8, 3-4:30 p.m.: Ages 3-5 take part in this opportunity with accompanying adult. Late afternoon is the “owling” time. Come learn about this lovely creature, meet the newest owl and listen for wild owls calling from the hills. Cost is $10/child and adult in advance; $15/child and adult at the gate. Advance registration recommended.
Owl Day, Saturday, Nov. 12, 1-4 p.m.: All ages can enjoy an afternoon of owl programs and meeting all the Owl’s Hill owls, including the new Barn Owl, Orion. There will be hikes through owl territory and owl craft activities. Cost is $7/person in advance, $10/person at the gate (age 2 and under free). Advance registration is recommended.
Owling, Prowling and Howling, Thursday, Nov. 17, 5-8 p.m.: Ages nine through adult can enjoy dinner, an owl program and a hike through owl territory with an owl specialist calling the owls. Will they answer? Perhaps come to see who calls? Cost is $20/person in advance; $30/person at the gate; includes dinner. Advance registration is recommended.
