First, fourth, and fifth graders at Edmondson Elementary were treated to a special musical performance. Jeremyck and Justin Smith, music majors at Belmont University, visited the school and performed on the djembe drums, trumpet, and keyboard.

The Smith brothers took time in their visit to explain how African and European music mixed together during the early history of America and how that mixture still influences music today. A few students were lucky enough to receive one-on-one music lessons.
