Dr. Lily Leffler named principal at Grassland Middle

Brentwood Home Page news reports
Superintendent Dr. Mike Looney has named Ravenwood High School Assistant Principal Dr. Lily Leffler as Principal for Grassland Middle School. Leffler fills the position left vacant by Dr. Susan Curtis who will retire on June 30. She will begin her new role on July 1.

Lily has great expectations for Grassland Middle students and the school community,” said Looney. “Another advantage for Lily is that she already knows so many of the Grassland families, from her six years at Franklin High. She is familiar with the community and their academic potential.”

Leffler started her career with Williamson County Schools as an Assistant Principal at Franklin High in 2002. Previously she also taught fifth and sixth grade science and social studies for six years in Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools.

“I am so excited to be joining the Grassland community. The strong school-parent partnerships in existence and the commitment to academic excellence will no doubt be an integral part in helping to create a Grassland Professional Learning Community,” said Leffler. “I am looking forward to a great 2011-2012 school year and cannot wait to get started.”

Leffler holds a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education from Belmont University; a Master’s in Educational Leadership/Administration from Trevecca Nazarene University and an Ed.D in Leadership and Professional Practice also from Trevecca Nazarene University.
