Brentwood Home Page news reports A woman was robbed at knifepoint Thursday morning at 6:10 a.m. in the Maryland Farms office park, when a suspect displayed a knife and demanded her purse, Brentwood Police said.
The armed robbery, listed on the weekly crime report, took place at 115 Penn Warren Drive near the corner of Maryland Way. The suspect was described as a male black wearing shirt and jeans and seen leaving in an older gray four-door SUV, possibly a Chevy Blazer.
BPD Capt. Tommy Walsh said the victim was sitting at an outdoor table at the rear of the building when she was approached by the suspect "who was on foot."
"The suspect displayed a large knife and demanded the victim's purse. The victim gave the suspect her purse and an IPod she was using," Walsh said.
"After taking the items the suspect fled on foot to a vehicle which was parked in the parking lot of the nearby Baymont Inn."
Brentwood detectives are actively investigating the case, and anyone with information is asked to call 61-371-0160.
The weekly crime report released Thursday by Walsh also listed five general thefts, four thefts from motor vehicle, an attempted break-in, and a case of vandalism.
A watch was taken from the victim's pool bag at the Maryland Farms YMCA sometime between 3 p.m.-5:45 p.m Sunday, Aug. 14.
A padlock was forcibly removed from a locker at the Indoor Sports Complex, 920 Heritage Way, and cash and a cell phone stolen during 3:45-5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15.
Prescription medication was reported stolen from a residence on Concord Road between July 27 and Aug. 15.
Two of the general thefts were shoplifting incidents, with suspects identified. A suspect was arrested after allegedly taking a camera, phone, ear piece and memory card from Best Buy, 1600 Galleria Blvd., at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10.
Charges are pending in a shoplifting case where multiple clothing items were recovered in a shoplifting attempt at Old Navy at 7:27-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15.
In the home burglary, nothing was taken during attempted forced entry to the rear window of a house under construction on Glenn Ellen Way, from 6 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 16, to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 17.
Another patron at the Maryland Farms Y also had the front passenger side window of their vehicle broken and a purse and wallet stolen around 5:05-5:50 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 11.
The front passenger side window was also broken out and a purse taken from a vehicle at Owl Creek Park, 9751 Concord Road, at 3:30-3:50 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12.
A co-worker was listed as a suspect and a credit card was used multiple times in Nashville after a theft from a motor vehicle on Arbor Run Place 8:30-11:24 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10.
An employee was listed as a suspect and jewelry was recovered by Shelbyville Police after it was taken from the trunk of a car on Whispering Willow Court about 7:30-8:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12.
The City of Brentwood reported vandalism Granny White Park, with holes punched in the ceiling of a park pavilion with an unknown object, during 5 p.m.-9:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 12.
