Brentwood Home Page news services Brentwood Police recovered a stolen car after stopping a suspect in a gas drive-off from a Moores Lane Mapco, according to a weekly crime report released Thursday.
Residents also reported chain saws, an aerator, backpacks, and jewelry-silverware taken from their property; license plates stolen in parking lots; and gasoline even siphoned from a car at a home. There were arrests made in two of three shoplifting cases and a store employee charged with currency stolen from a store.
In total there were 11 cases of general theft, four thefts from motor vehicles, two incidents of vandalism, and the motor vehicle theft in listings released Thursday by BPD Capt. Tommy Walsh. The report covered incidents over a longer period of time than usual since no report was issued last week.
Driver Jeffrey Toberman was arrested after BPD stopped the vehicle on I-65 suspected in the gas drive-off around 4:56 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Mapco, 8009 Moores Lane. Police discovered the vehicle had been stolen in Illinois.
Two chain saws and a can of fuel were reported taken from a tool shed in the rear of a residence on Forest Trail between Feb. 27 and March 17.
An aerator was removed from a resident's front yard on Richburg Park Drive around noon on Friday, March 18. A black male with a large build was reported leaving in a large, dark-colored SUV.
Two backpacks were stolen from the front yard of a residence on Arrowhead Court between 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. Monday, March 28.
A resident on O'Hara Drive reported assorted jewelry and silverware missing during Feb. 6-March 29 while a home was the home was being renovated.
A woman also had cash taken from her purse at an Arcaro Place address.
In two shoplifting cases at Best Buy, one suspect was arrested for stealing a digital battery and charger on Monday night, March 21, and another with taking two video cameras on Friday evening, March 25.
At Costco, two suspects were seen leaving in a green '90s Camaro after shoplifting multiple DVDs around 7:50-8:02 p.m. Tuesday, March 22. They were described as a white male in his 60s, 6-foot tall and 200 pounds with brown hair, and a white female in her 50s, about 5-foot-6, 180 pounds with brown hair.
A suspect "quick-changed" a cashier at Concord Corner Store, 1101 Wilson Pike, around 3:01 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, to obtain currency. A black male suspect last seen wearing red pants and shirt with a white hat reportedly left in a newer model red Toyota Corolla.
An employee at Ross Dress of Less on Galleria Boulevard was arrested in the theft of currency at the store during March 8-26.
In the thefts from motor vehicle, a license plate was swiped from a vehicle parked at Hart Freeland & Roberts, 7101 Executive Center Dr., overnight on Wednesday, March 16. And another plate was taken from a vehicle parked in a shopping center lot at 330 Franklin Road between 7:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Friday, March 25.
At the Brentwood YMCA parking lot, 8207 Concord Road, a front passenger side window was broken out and a purse stolen from a vehicle between 5:20 p.m.-6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24.
Fuel also was siphoned from vehicle at a Bridlewood Lane residence overnight on Thursday, March 24.
