Brentwood Home Page news reports More vehicles were broken into at the Maryland Farms YMCA, an animal clinic and home were burglarized, and a city stop sign was stolen, according to the weekly crime report.
There were thefts from eight different motor vehicles, six general thefts, one business burglary, one residential burglary and one case of vandalism in the report released Thursday by Brentwood Police Capt. Tommy Walsh.
Animal Care of Brentwood, 283 Wilson Pike Circle, had two cash boxes stolen after entry was forced through a rear window overnight on Tuesday, April 5.
In the residential burglary, jewelry was stolen from a Pelham Drive residence after entry through an open garage door at 11:35-11:46 a.m. Thursday, March 24. A black male, 6 feet tall with a slim build and wearing jeans and a gray hoodie, was reported leaving in a white Ford or Dodge dually stye truck.
Thefts from motor vehicles took place at six different locations in the past week.
Windows were broken out of two vehicles on different days at the YMCA, 5101 Maryland Way. A purse was swiped at 5:20-6:45 p.m. Friday, April 1, and a laptop computer with case was stolen at 5:15-5:25 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.
There was no forced entry in the other incidents. Two vehicles were entered at an Old Smyrna Road residence overnight on Wednesday, March 30, and currency and a wallet taken.
Sunglasses and vehicle documents were removed from a vehicle at a Red Oak Drive home overnight on Friday, April 1. Two vehicles were also entered at a Sweetwater Drive home the same night-early morning, with a phone charger and a multi-tool stolen. Currency was taken from another vehicle at a Sweetwater Drive residence also overnight Friday-early Saturday.
In general theft, a stop sign with post was pulled out of the ground at 1500 Volunteer Parkway, near Crockett Park, and stolen from the City of Brentwood between 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 1, and 3 p.m. Saturday, April 2.
A wallet was taken from a victim's purse after it was used at Harris Teeter Tuesday, March 29. Credit cards were used at multiple Cool Springs area retailers.
Best Buy, 1600 Galleria Blvd., made shoplifting arrests in two cases. A juvenile was charged with taking an auxiliary cable at 10:55 a.m. on Saturday, April 2. Another suspect was accused with stealing a cell phone earpiece at 11:20 a.m. Sunday, April 3.
A cell phone was taken from an office suite on Cadillac Drive around 8:50-9 a.m. Monday, April 4.
Checks were taken from the victim's purse at an Arcaro Place address between noon Sunday, April 3, and 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 5.
In the vandalism incident, a tire was cut was a vehicle was parked in a Maryland Farms lot on Westwood Place between 8:15 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday, April 4.
