Brentwood Home Page news reports A Mercedes was stolen from a driveway and a ’69 Chevy pickup from the Ace Hardware parking lot, while jewelry was taken from yet another home during daytime hours, according to the weekly crime report.
There were also five thefts from motor vehicles and seven general thefts, including a flat-screen TV stolen from the same residence as the Mercedes. The report was released Thursday by Brentwood Police Capt. Tommy Walsh.
A suspect has been identified and charges pending for the 2003 Mercedes SLK230 taken from a Deer Track Court driveway between 2:20 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. Monday, Nov. 14. The flat-screen TV was also taken from the home, with no forced entry.
The 1969 Chevrolet truck was taken from the Ace Hardware lot, 124 Pewitt Drive, sometime during 7-10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16. The owner observed the vehicle being operated in Davidson County, with the suspect described as white or Hispanic male wearing a black and white hoodie and black and white baseball hat with red logo.
In the residential burglary, jewelry items were removed from the master bedroom closet around 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13. There was no forced entry needed. Walsh said it wasn't the same MO used in the recent rash of jewelry burglaries, so police don't believe it is related to the other cases.
The front passenger side window was broken and a purse stolen from a vehicle at Owl Creek Park, 9751 Concord Road, about 4-4:39 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10.
Another purse was swiped from an unlocked car at 7777 Concord Road, the address of Brentwood Baptist Church, at 7:15-7:25 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11.
At Global Motor Sports, 7116 Moores Lane, the catalytic converters were cut and removed from five vehicles sometime during the week of Nov. 7-11. Thieves target the catalytic converts for the precious metals inside which can be resold.
A purse was taken in the break-in of a vehicle at 9020 Church Str. E., the address of Extended Stay America between midnight and 6:50 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. The rear driver’s side window was broken.
A window was broken out on the front passenger’s side of a vehicle at a Heritage Way residence and a purse stolen at 1-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. The victim’s credit card was used in the Cool Springs area, with the suspect described as a black male, 6-foot-2, 180 pounds, seen driving a white Chevy Imapla.
A driver’s license and Social Security card were stolen from a purse left under a desk in an office building at 51111 Maryland Way, between 8 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, and 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5.
A wallet was stolen from a backpack left unattended in the kitchen at Otter Creek Church of Christ, 409 Franklin Road, during 7-10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15.
A laptop computer was taken from a locked office at Liberty Mutual, 5301 Virginia Way, between Oct. 10 and Nov. 8.
The Nike Factory Store, 1622 Galleria Blvd., had a shoplifting suspect leave when confronted for allegedly attempting to conceal tennis shoes at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10. The suspect, a white male, 5-foot-11, 230 pounds, about 35-40 years old with a heavy build, left in a red Chrysler Sebring.
Daily’s, 116 Franklin Road, reported grocery items shoplifted at 1:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12. The black male suspect, described as a black male wearing khaki pants, black and white tennis shoes and a Home Depot jacket, left in a white Ford Taurus.
Currency was taken from the victim’s purse at an Arcaro Place resident, sometime during the week of Nov. 7-14.
