The Lady Lions (12-7-4) will play Christian Academy of Knoxville in the 10 a.m. CDT final Saturday at Girls Preparatory School's field in Chattanooga.
Coach Brandy Gagliano, meanwhile, was named the TSSAA's A.F. Bridges Female Coach of the Year for Athletic District 5. CPA's Nate Morrow also will receive the Principal of the Year award at the Middle Tennessee regional meeting at 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Franklin Road Academy.
Gagliano is also a coach with the Brentwood Soccer Club, coaching the Brentwood Premier '94 team that competed in the U.S. Youth Soccer National League last year.
Thursday's CPA-Notre Dame semifinal ended in a 0-0 deadlock after regulation and two sets of overtime halves. Last season the Lions lost to the Irish 2-1 in the semifinals in OT.
The PKs even ended up tied at 4-4 before Megan Roach found the net on the sixth attempt by CPA. Goalkeeper Meredith Roman, one of only three starters back from 2010, then made the save on Notre Dame's last try.
Madi Andres, Mary Morgan Smith, Michaela Lee and Abi Kania all scored on their PKs before Christ Presbyterian missed its fifth try. The Irish had kept pace by making their first four shots as well.
CPA was outshot in the game 10-2 but Roman came up with seven saves. In the other A-AA semifinal, CAK shut out defending state champ Chattanooga Christian 3-0.
In Class AAA, Franklin continued its undefeated and untied season with a 7-A romp past Soddy-Daisy in Thursday's semifinals. The Lady Rebels (23-0) will play in Saturday's 12:30 p.m. CDT championship at GPS against unbeaten Knoville Farragut (22-0-2), which knocked out Ravenwood 2-1 in Wednesday's quarterfinal.
