Brentwood Home Page news reports About 700 students, parents and friends gathered at Christ Presbyterian Academy, 2323-A Old Hickory Boulevard, recently to celebrate the dedication of its new high school building.
The Aug. 14 dedication included a brief ceremony, music led by Steven Curtis Chapman and tours of the three-story, 85,000-square-foot building.
In addition to the new, 35-classroom facility — which includes dedicated Fine Arts and Science areas and a 250-seat dining hall — CPA also renovated its two other primary academic buildings, effectively creating a “new” look and feel throughout its 58-acre campus.
Founded in 1985, CPA has now surpassed 1,000 students in K-12 for the first time in its history. Also for the first time in its 26 years as a school, each of the school’s levels — elementary (K-5), middle (6-8) and high (9-12) — is housed in separate buildings.
A fourth building is home to CPA Preschool, serving 140 children from age 1 through Pre-K.
CPA, the home of the Lions, is a ministry of Christ Presbyterian Church, which was founded in 1981. In May, the Academy celebrated its 20th graduating class and its 1,086th graduate.
