Jimmy V Espy courage award winner at Rotary Brentwood Home Page news reports Don Meyer, former Lipscomb basketball coach and retired coach from Northern State University, will be the featured speaker for the Brentwood Morning Rotary Club's weekly meeting on Wednesday, May 11.
Meyer is the all-time winningest coach in collegiate basketball, is the 2009 recipient of the Jimmy V ESPY Award for Courage and is currently promoting a best-selling book about his life.
The coach was involved in a serious automobile accident that resulted in the loss of a leg -- and during the surgery to repair internal injuries the doctors discovered he had terminal cancer.
The Rotary meeting begins at 7 a.m., with Coach Meyer speaking from 7:30-8 a.m. Breakfast is $10 for guests, who are welcome to attend to hear the highly motivational message from this exceptional man.
Guests should call Kirk Bednar at 615-371-0060 for a reservation. |
