Delta Company commander will speak

The county’s official Memorial Day ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. today at Veterans Park near the County Archives at Five Points in Franklin. The commanding officer of the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault)’s Delta Company 1-327 Battalion will be guest speaker. Cpt. Josh Schneider took over after a change in command soon after the company deployed to Afghanistan.
All city, county, state and federal offices will be closed today. There will be no mail delivery. All Williamson County Parks and Recreation facilities will also be closed, including the Indoor Sports Complex in Brentwood. All facilities will reopen at their regularly scheduled times on Tuesday, May 31.
Sweet CeCe’s Frozen Yogurt & Treats will host a fundraising event to benefit Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt on Monday. All Sweet CeCe’s locations, including the Brentwood Hill Center location, will donate a portion of sales proceeds to the Children’s Hospital for the entire day. The fundraising goal is to raise a minimum of $5,000.
Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) will not operate today. |
