Beginning Friday, new bus fares will go into effect for Regional Transportation Authority (RTA) bus passengers, which include commuters on the 91X Franklin/Brentwood Express.

The RTA Board of Directors recently approved a 50-cent increase in its regional express bus fare.  The price of a 20-ride R&R pass increases to $70 and other multi-ride fare media also have been adjusted proportionally. Single-trip fares from Franklin and Brentwood to downtown Nashville and Vanderbilt are now $4.

The 91X Express leaves the Williamson Square Kroger in Franklin at 6:27 and 7:06 a.m. and the Brentwood Civitan Ball Park parking lot at 6:40 and 7:20 a.m. Monday-Friday. It arrives at the Music City Central, Bay 11, at 7:10 and 7:50 a.m., at 21st and West End Avenues at 7:20 and 8:05 a.m. and 21st and Children’s Way at 7:30 and 8:15 a.m.

Pickups begin at 3:45 p.m. and 4:15 p.m. at 21st and West End; 3:55 and 4:25 p.m. at 21st & Children’s Way; 4:20 and 4:55 p.m. at Music City Central. Drop offs at the Civitan lot are 4:50 and 5:26 p.m. and at the Kroger lot at 5:06 and 5:42 p.m.

To gain input regarding the proposed changes to the fare structure, MTA and RTA held four public hearings in November. Customers had the opportunity to attend the meetings and/or provide comments by phone, through written correspondence, fax or e-mail.
