Brentwood Home Page news reports Incoming Chairman of the Cool Springs Chamber, Chris Stout, in a letter to the membership announced today that Chamber President Marti Veto has turned in her resignation and accepted a position outside the Chamber.
The Board of Directors is actively looking for Veto's replacement and will keep the membership updated accordingly. Stout and the board asked the membership to join them in wishing Veto the very best in her new endeavor.
Veto told Brentwood Home Page Tuesday afternoon, “This Chamber is important to me and its success is very important to me. I’m proud of where we excelled while I’ve been President because we’ve really built a lot of momentum."
Veto came to CSC from a 20-year career in Biotech and Pharmaceutical Sales, Sales Management, Sales Training and Brand Management. The offer will allow Veto to remain in Franklin, TN working out of my home office, and will travel the U.S. as Director of Business Development for Symbiotix, Inc., a medical education company whose tagline is "Where Science Meets Strategy". Veto’s resignation as President of the Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce is effective Dec. 30 and her new job starts on Monday, Jan. 2, 2012.
The Executive Committee of Board of Directors of the Cool Springs Chamber of Commerce met Wednesday, Dec. 19 and is already making plans to fill the gap in staff left by Veto’s move and will continue all activities of the Chamber throughout the transition period as CSC moves to a Unified Williamson County Chamber.
Veto, who worked closely with Nancy Conway of the Williamson County Chamber and Cindi Parmenter of the Brentwood Cool Springs Chamber on the unification, said this move is in no way related to the unification of the three chambers. She has been asked to go back to a field with which she is very familiar and in which she has been very successful.
“I’ve enjoyed seeing the business and leadership skills of both Cindi and Nancy throughout this unification process,” said Veto.
Parmenter told BHP Tuesday, “She has contributed a great deal and has been very collaborative with the other chambers. She has reached out and has been committed to the unification. She knows this is the best thing for our business community.”
“I’ve enjoyed meeting the people and the community and I’m excited that I don’t have to move. I feel strongly about my community and now my community will no longer be my work, just my pleasure,” shared Veto.
“My strengths are more suited and my contacts are in the pharmaceutical and biotech community,” said Veto. “When I meet people I don’t forget them. I add them to my charm bracelet and I have that connection now in both the biotech world as well as here.”
The Board of Directors has invited Veto to attend the Jan. 10 CSC Monthly Member Breakfast. Veto said she wants to personally express her gratitude to the CSC members for all the encouragement and support they have been to one another. The breakfast will take place at Prairie Life at 7:30.
