Trevon S. Blake, 19, of Nashville, and Karl E. Dawson, 18, Antioch, along with a juvenile suspect, were each charged with four counts of burglary of a vehicle and four counts of theft over $500.
"The MO in this case involved suspects on foot who were entering unlocked vehicles," BPD Capt. Tommy Walsh said. "I don’t have an exact number of vehicles that were entered as we continue to receive delayed reports from residents."
A fourth suspect was arrested on charges unrelated to the vehicle burglaries, Walsh said. The juvenile from Brentwood was charged with a drug offense and theft over $500.
The incidents took place between 11:30 p.m. Saturday, April 9, and 3:37 a.m. Sunday, April 10, in the Shadow Creek and Southern Woods subdivisions.
"This was not a sting operation – it originated from a citizen who noticed two people walking in the area of Concord Road and Bluff Road at 3:30 in the morning," Walsh said.
The suspects haven't previously been arrested for vehicle burglaries in Brentwood, although any other possible previous criminal history wasn't available as public information.
The case remains under investigation and additional charges could be filed at a later date, Walsh said.
The items stolen had been left in unsecure vehicles.
"We have attempted to communicate this message many times before: Don’t leave valuables in your vehicle, and lock your doors," Walsh said.
