Trial next if plea isn't made in DUI case Brentwood Home Page news reports Garret Bullock is scheduled to be back in Williamson County Circuit Court on Thursday, his third and final appearance in which he can enter a plea to the charges against him as a result of the Sept.13 traffic wreck that left a woman paralyzed and slightly injured a father and son.
Bullock is charged with two counts of vehicular assault, reckless endangerment of a deadly weapon, DUI, DUI-second offense and aggravated assault. He was convicted of drunk driving in Nashville in 2003. He was also charged with DUI on Oct. 22.
“It is the final date for a plea – after that, the case should be set for trial,” District Attorney Kim Helper said last week. “And according to the court’s scheduling order, the Court will only accept a plea to the indictment – of course, those things are subject to change but that is the general rule.”
A plea to the indictment means that unless an exception is made, Bullock must plead guilty to the charges made, not lesser charge.
Brentwood Police Department’s preliminary investigation of the September accident revealed that Bullock was driving a Nissan Altima headed north on Franklin Road when he rear-ended two other vehicles stopped at the intersection with Murray Lane. One was a minivan, the other a small sedan. Elaine Scholes, driver of the mini-van, remains paralyzed from injuries sustained in the accident.

This guy should suffer every day for the rest of his life, as he has done that to others through reckless and irresponsible behavior.
20 years in prison, without parole, would be a good start.
