Brentwood Home Page news reports Brentwood defeated Independence-Page 4-3 behind two goals from Hunter Wilhoite in the Predators Cup round-robin opener. Tyler Richardson and Dominick Granda also scored for the Bruins, while Andrew Rittler and Zachary McGrath had two assists each. Tanner Elmore was the winning goalie, saving 8 of 11 shots.
Simon Ivey had the shutout in goal and Nathan Traczewski had a goal and two assists in Ravenwood's 3-0 victory over Hendersonville on Wednesday. Taylor Griffin and Thomas Miller also found the net for the Raptors, with assists from Taylor Griffin ,Will Lamb, Justin Stelzer and Zachary Wertz.
Brentwood High's other round-robin games in the Preds Cup are at 8:10 p.m. Feb. 9 against Hendersonville at A-Game; 6:40 p.m. Feb. 16 vs. No. 2 seed Pope John Paul II at the Sportsplex; and 6:40 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, against Montgomery Bell Academy at A-Game.
Ravenwood's other pool-play contests will be against Indy-Page at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, at Sportsplex; vs. MBA at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, at Sportsplex; and against JPII at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at A-Game.
The Preds Cup semifinals are at 7:05 and 8:35 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at Centennial Sportsplex. The state tournament championship will be played at 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at Bridgestone Arena.
Ensworth-Brentwood Academy, meanwhile, won its opener in the Henry Hines Cup 5-0 over Beech on Jan. 26 with Zachary Spires at goalie. Tanner Poss scored two goals, and Matthew Peacock had a goal and assist.
But EHS-BA fell to eventual champion Franklin Road Academy-University School of Nashville 4-2 two nights later in the semifinals.
