BHS hosts rival Franklin on Saturday in rescheduled district game
Brentwood Home Page news reports The Brentwood Bruins boys soccer team scored a 1-0 win over defending state champion Hendersonville High School Thursday at Drakes Creek Park in Hendersonville.
Junior L.C. McNeil scored the decisive goal late in the first half. McNeil intercepted a long clearance from Hendersonville and drove to the top of the 18-yard box before delivering the punishing strike that would hold up as the game-winner.
The stingy Brentwood defense recorded its fourth straight shutout. Senior goalkeeper Alex Blanton, a Southern Methodist signee, was outstanding, turning away several dangerous shots from Hendersonville.
Brentwood remains undefeated for the season, with eight wins and two ties. The Bruins are back in action Saturday at noon as they host the rival Franklin Rebels. This District 11-AAA matchup was rescheduled from Tuesday, April 12, because of poor field conditions following Monday night’s heavy rains.
